— Before You Book —
From booking and check-in to the little details of daily life in my home, here are the answers to the questions my guests ask most often. Can’t find yours? I’m always happy to help.
You can book through Airbnb or request a direct booking through this website. Booking directly simply allows you to avoid Airbnb’s additional service fees, so you pay less for the same stay.
Once I confirm that your dates are available, I can hold them for 12 hours while you complete your booking. Your reservation is confirmed once payment has been received.
Once your booking is confirmed, cancellations made more than 30 days before arrival receive a full refund. Cancellations made 7 to 30 days before arrival receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival are non-refundable.
The full terms are provided before payment.
Minimum stays vary depending on the dates and the season. When you select your dates, the calendar will show whether your stay meets the minimum-night requirement.
The Paris tourist tax is not included in the accommodation price. It is calculated separately and clearly displayed before your booking is confirmed.
Direct bookings are paid securely by credit or debit card at the time of booking. A temporary security hold may also be placed on your card; it is released after your stay, provided there is no damage.
Yes. The two studios can be booked together for up to four guests traveling as a family or a group of friends. Each studio remains completely private, with its own bathroom and kitchenette, while both are located within my home.
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and checkout is by 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late checkout may occasionally be possible, depending on availability. Please feel free to ask me in advance.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to store luggage securely at my home before check-in or after checkout. A convenient luggage storage facility is just a 2-minute walk away.
Check-in is self-guided with a secure key lockbox, so you can arrive at your convenience from 3:00 PM. I’ll send you clear step-by-step instructions before your arrival, and I’m always available if you need any help.
Both studios are on the first floor — one level above the street, what Americans would call the second floor — and are reached by stairs. There is no elevator in the building.
I don’t currently offer a private airport transfer service, but my home is very easy to reach by public transportation or by taxi. The best option depends on your budget, your luggage and your arrival time.
From Charles de Gaulle (CDG): the RER B takes you directly to Gare du Nord in about 35–40 minutes, followed by a 10–15-minute walk. Airport taxis charge a fixed fare of €56; a taxi or ride-hailing car (Uber, Bolt…) usually takes 35–60 minutes, depending on traffic.
From Orly (ORY): Metro line 14 takes you directly into Paris, with a connection to line 7 for Cadet. Allow around 40–50 minutes overall. Airport taxis charge a fixed fare of €45; a taxi or ride-hailing car usually takes 35–60 minutes, depending on traffic.
From Gare du Nord or Gare de l’Est: both stations are a 10–15-minute walk away. I recommend walking, or booking a ride through an app, especially if you have luggage. Ride-hailing fares vary with traffic and demand, so it’s best to check them at the time of booking.
Studio 1819: Queen-size bed · 160 × 200 cm (63 × 79 in)
The Historic Duplex: double bed · 140 × 200 cm (55 × 79 in)
Yes. Bed linens, bath and hand towels, bathrobes, slippers and a hairdryer are provided. Each studio also has a garment steamer, so you can easily freshen up your clothes after your journey.
You’ll also find a selection of travel-size toiletries — shower gel, shampoo and body lotion — along with toilet paper.
Each kitchenette includes a compact refrigerator, a stovetop, a microwave, cookware, dishes, glasses, wine glasses, cutlery and basic cooking essentials such as oil, salt and pepper. You’ll also find a coffee maker, a kettle, coffee and tea.
The minibar is available exclusively in Studio 1819 and is not included in the room rate. It is an honesty bar, offering a small selection of French wines, Champagne and treats, with prices clearly displayed.
Yes. Both studios are heated throughout the colder months, including their private bathrooms. During warm weather, a portable air-conditioning unit is provided in each studio, either when needed or on request.
Both studios have fast, reliable fiber-optic Wi-Fi, and the Historic Duplex also has a dedicated workspace. There is no TV or safe.
Studio 1819 has its own washer and dryer, located in the bathroom. The Historic Duplex does not have a washer or dryer, but a self-service laundromat and a professional laundry service are both just a 2-minute walk away.
For stays of 5 nights or more, I’m happy to provide a fresh set of towels during your stay. For stays of more than a week, fresh bed linens can also be provided if needed. Regular housekeeping is not included during your stay.
The studios are best suited to adults and older children. For safety reasons, I welcome guests aged 12 and over, accompanied by an adult.
Please note that the Historic Duplex has a sleeping mezzanine reached by a ladder, so it is better suited to guests aged 16 and over.
Pets and smoking are not permitted in the studios, and parties and events are not allowed. Visitors are welcome only with my prior approval.
As this is my private home in a residential building, I kindly ask all guests to be respectful of the other residents and to keep noise to a minimum.
The building is not wheelchair accessible. Both studios are on the first floor and can only be reached by stairs; there is no elevator.
Studio 1819 has no internal stairs, while the Historic Duplex has a sleeping mezzanine reached by a ladder-style staircase and is not suitable for guests with mobility difficulties.
Yes. The 9th arrondissement around Rue La Fayette and Cadet is a lively, well-established residential and business neighborhood, with cafés, restaurants, shops and offices, and people out and about throughout the day and evening.
I regularly welcome women traveling alone, as well as mothers and daughters and groups of friends, and guests often tell me they feel comfortable walking around the neighborhood. The building itself is also very secure, with two coded entry doors before you reach my home.
As in any major city, I recommend taking the usual precautions, especially late at night. One useful distinction: Gare du Nord, a 10–15-minute walk away, is a very busy railway station, and its immediate surroundings can feel considerably less pleasant, particularly at night. If you arrive there, I recommend heading directly to Cadet rather than lingering around the station.
Like many central Paris homes, the studios overlook a lively street, so some city noise can be heard, particularly during the day and evening. The passing metro may also cause slight vibrations that can occasionally be felt in the building.
Both studios have double-glazed windows, a white-noise machine and complimentary earplugs to help make your nights as comfortable as possible.
Yes. The nearest option is Parking Montholon, an underground Indigo car park just a 2-minute walk from the studios. It is open 24/7, with a maximum vehicle height of 1.90 m (6 ft 2 in).
The standard rate is approximately €4.60 per hour or €41.40 for 24 hours; booking in advance may offer lower rates.
You’ll find a supermarket, a pharmacy and an ATM within a 2-minute walk of the studios, along with plenty of bakeries, cafés, restaurants and small shops right in the neighborhood.
Absolutely. If you’re celebrating a honeymoon, an anniversary, a birthday or simply a special moment, I’d be happy to arrange a thoughtful welcome in your studio before you arrive.
Depending on the occasion, I can arrange fresh flowers, Champagne, pastries or a few carefully chosen touches to make your stay feel extra special. These services are available in both studios, at an additional cost.
Just let me know when you book, or as early as possible before your arrival, and I’ll be happy to suggest something appropriate for the occasion.
You can reach me by email or phone throughout your stay; I’ll share my direct contact details before your arrival. For anything urgent, please call me rather than relying on email.
I live in the same home, so I’m nearby and happy to help if you need anything.
Absolutely. Once your stay is booked, I’ll share my personal guide to the neighborhood, with some of my favorite bakeries, cafés, wine bars and restaurants — all within easy reach of the studios. You’ll receive access to my digital guide before your arrival.
